Go Away, Come Back Tomorrow

It's cold and it is raining in New York. Instead of making thousands of fans--not to mention the players--suffer through the conditions, today's game has been postponed.

That'll give JD another day to rest his cramped calves. Can someone get him some bananas or potatoes or something? It's all about the potassium.

PeteAbe says that Cano was going to lead off, with Melky in CF.

Off day. Rain out. Beatloaf sandwich.

1 Organge juice will do as well.

I so saw this coming when I woke up this morning hearing rain drops from my opened window.

Yes, the season started, but having only one game played so far...is not right!

Great. Now what am I going to do at work all afternoon?

Actually, it's good by me. Going to Friday Nite's game and would rather see Moose than (Oh)Kei Igawa.

This is a triple beatloaf sandwich for the D-Rays who have much warmer weather, and a roof back home. They've been in town for three days now and have 8 innings to show for it (Mo stole their 9th).
At least the Yanks can go home to their wives, kids, supermodel/actress girlfriends, whatever the case may be.

5 The Rays can catch a Broadway matinee. Being stuck in NYC is not so bad.

6 oh, there are definitely worse cities to be stranded in... just sayin'.

I imagine they did the Broadway thing yesterday, maybe a movie last night, and today is hardly optimum for sightseeing.

shockingly off topic: I imagine many here have seen/heard the Keef Richards "story" about snorting his old man's ashes up his nose?

Sometimes you have to tip your cap to the evil genius headline writers at the NY Post who came up with this for the front-page today: Father Nose Best.

The D-Rays will never catch headlines like that in their Tampa Tribune.

7 I'll bet the Tampa papers are hot and heavy with the Steinbrenner divorce.

"Father Nose Best". Fantastic.
Can any Bronx residents give a weather report for tomorrow evening. Is there a chance the Thurs. evening game could also be rained out? (say it ain't so, Joe)

9 Weather.com (Weather Channel) predicts mostly cloudy and about 40 degrees in da Bronx at gametime tomorrow. No rain, but it will feel more like 32. Pettitte can handle the cold though.

Before the NY Marathon, the NY Times had an article on the latest research in muscle cramps. Pottasium and dehydration didn't seem to be the big factors. It seemed that some people are just predisposed to them because their brains are wired to tell their muscles to do the wrong thing under stress.
