Sox give Halos that Peaceful, Easy Feeling.  Actually, I'm sure there was nothing peaceful or easy about it.  The Sox win games like the 90s Yankee teams did, huh?

Let's Go Rays!

While I was rooting for the Angels, I have to admit that I was also rooting for Jon Lester - seems like a stand-up person. So far, he's having an amazing post-season.

I am glad to see that Lester is back and healthy. But did the Angels have to be so soft against the Sox? Jeez, Scioscia always seems to have his team play hard against the Yankees. Not that I'm bitter or anything. I like being able to get a full night's sleep in October.

He looks exactly like Mussina will in 5 years.

I sure hope the Rays are "too young and stupid" to be intimidated by the Sox and play solid baseball in the ALCS. Unlike the fundamental, genius-led Angels who booted their way to another soft exit. At lest I don't have to see Scosia's swarmy face for a while. And yeah, I kinda wish we had a young stud lefty. I don't believe any new Coke or original Coke will turn out like Lester. Damn!

There is unrest in the forest,
There is trouble with the trees,
For the maples want more sunlight
And the oaks ignore their pleas.

The trouble with the maples,
(And they're quite convinced they're right)
They say the oaks are just too lofty
And they grab up all the light.
But the oaks can't help their feelings
If they like the way they're made.
And they wonder why the maples
Can't be happy in their shade.

There is trouble in the forest,
And the creatures all have fled,
As the maples scream "Oppression!"
And the oaks just shake their heads

So the maples formed a union
And demanded equal rights.
"The oaks are just too greedy;
We will make them give us light."
Now there's no more oak oppression,
For they passed a noble law,
And the trees are all kept equal
By hatchet, axe, and saw.

Alan Schwarz has a nice piece in today's Times on Joe Maddon and the patience of the Rays young management team

I guess it's "Go Rays", but isn't it ultimately "Go Phills"?

12 No NL team's going to get it done against Boston. The last stand is in Tampa, my friends...

I guess it is:
1) Go Rays (hey, they were the WS winners, it is ok to finish behind them)
2) Go Phillies
3) Go, ah, er, um Los Angeles team (hard to root for the Dodgers, but I can root for Torre)
4) Go financial apocalypse so that they have to cancel the World Series. (can't bear to have Boston fans even more insufferable).
