At the point when Jetes can't hit enough to carry the SS position, I don't know how putting him at 1B or OF helps things. The real issue is not where Jeter plays on the field, but where he plays on the map after 2011.
6 Considering that Jeter's defense seems to have improved, which is verifiable by most metrics, even his diminished offense (OPS+ of 103) at the position is valuable. Moving Jeter off SS should not be in the Yankees short-term plans.
