The Yanks beat the Rangers 5-3 tonight, a game that featured a memorable collison at the plate.  Derek Jeter came up big; Mo looked good in the 9th and got the save.  We'll have more on the game in the a.m.  And more on the good news from Dr. James Andrews.  Looks like Joba's injury isn't dire.  Chamberlain was placed on the 15-day DL.

In the meantime, Brett Favre has been traded to the J-E-T-S, JetsJetsJets.  That's enough to make you go, Whoa.

This is so Cool.  My autumn just got a whole lot more entertaining.

Hey, I just saw this on the talking-box. Is it possible that Eli, coming off a Super Bowl win, won't be the biggest QB in town? Crazy.

Please, no NFL talk in early August! The Banter is my refuge, my island...if I want to hear about the NFL, I'll watch ESPN on just about any night of the year!

Also I think it's time we start giving Sid a little respect. I don't expect him to be a lights out starter for us, but I do think he's already given us way more than we had right to expect from him.

2 3 ESPN has become the Brett Favre network lately. It is completely insane.

I agree that when I went to see the latest post on the Banter, I nearly died seeing a picture of you-know-who...I thought hackers had gotten to the site.

2 100% agree! I can't stand football coverage (games aren't so exciting either, ever watched a Detroit Lions game?)

would be cool if Fav-ruh won the Supe with the Jets though...

Holy Football Animosity,
I undersand b/c I could care less about football unless it involves the Steel City team, but it is sort of a cool deal. Just think how much Coverage the former Red Sox LF got last week and he takes days off.
