I was going to say it's a shame that Sly went crazy, but then I'm not sure he was ever really sane. Mad brilliance.
My favorite part of the clip, though, is on Sly's first vocal line on "Summertime" when the young man with the afro lip synchs to him and then cringes in awe of the soul in Sly's voice.
I've been a couple of Sly's shows. Notorious for being late, for whatever reason. I figure he was always wasted, but his band could jam. Larry Graham on the Bass, and the rest were great. The sad thing for me after seeing that video, is thats what I looked like 40 years ago. Where have the years gone?
