Yeaaahhh, man. I was sorry to hear that, though she lived a long and relatively quiet life after Hollywood; I didn't remember she was even around. Her legs tore your mind to shreds, but what was more devastating and most admirable was what she could do with them, especially when she was with either Gene or Fred. And this before the sexual revolution. I always admire a woman who could be sexy and graceful without being totally explicit, and Cyd (with a nod to Bob Fosse) dared you to ogle without feeling like you were peeping. There's a lot for some of today's female pop "artists" to learn from if they want to have more credibility in their craft. Thanks for everything, Ms. Charrise >;)
Btw, great picture from a great picture. Top choice all around >;)
She was fabulous. Right photo from right film (and scene). Did Damn Yankees on stage many times, but Gwen Verdon (also fabulous!) did the film, of course.
Also off-topic, but linked to earlier ... seems Tiger Woods will miss the rest of the year, needing surgery on that left knee. If so, if he went 91 holes and WON the US Open on a knee messed up like that ... well, much as I was hoping for Mediate Monday, that is pretty damned incredible, in a career with lots of 'incredible'...
yeah .... a double stress fracture in the tibia and a bad ACL ....
and he STILL won!
(I kept wondering during the telecast "does Will think Tiger is doing himself long-term harm by being out there so soon after surgery?". Will's answer on bp.com at the time was "no", but maybe now its different)
My dad is a huge fan. I think she's probably his number one movie fantasy woman, to be honest. Haven't spoken to him today, but I'm sure he's bummed out.

I assume you were referencing that infamous 1980s Broadway commercial, otherwise that comment makes no sense.
2 Singin in the Rain is in deed a great movie, even if it is overshadowed by one number.

So what's Tiger's next trick: bad leg and bad elbow? We're starting to get into Black Knight territory.
