I guess the question is this: ASSUMING it was Pete who even posted that stuff on Nomaas, is what was written even inappropriate? He didn't write anything that appears all that improper to me, so the question becomes what's wrong with being anonymous? I guess I tend to want to defend Pete, assuming he posted that stuff, because would have been posting anonymously to an anonymous blogger. Maybe Alex or Cliff have some thoughts since they're in the media. (or maybe this is a topic they want to not get into here, which I think would be understandable too).
I have noticed that sometimes they put his picture on their website and make fun of a comment he makes. I suppose that's okay with him and it shows what a professional he is that he still has a link to their site. Of course, if they write something he doesn't like he's not in the same position they are and cannot put pictures of them in funny poses on his site. I guess that's their right -- to be anonymous. But it makes me wonder if it's fair for them to criticize him for apparently making an anonymous comment. What's good for the goose is good for the gander comes to mind.
Off that subject, two things I wanted to point out:
1. Remember, on May 21, I predicted we'd go 13-6 and be 33-31. If we win today we will have gone 13-6 and will be 33-31. I am nervous about the Oakland series and Houston stands out like Colorado to me last year. BUT, if we can go .500 on the road trip, we'll have San Diego and Cincy and then Pittsburgh and can start to expand. We HAVE to win this game today.
2. BamaYank is in the Big Ballpark in the Bronx today for his first ever game at the Stadium. I hope people will throw some comments out to him so that when he gets home to Ala-Bamy, he can retroactively reminisce. The Yanks need to get a win for him today too.
6 probably true, but i'd also say pete needs to get over himself, he provides excellent information on almost a daily basis, but his powers of "analysis" are nearly worthless; his skin is remarkably thin on certain subjects and he reacts by becoming as snarky and petulant as a 12-year old.
and lane meyer's analysis over at nomaas was thorough and extensive, by the end it was the best draft blogging on this year's yankees draft that i read.
9 I'm no Pete Abe fan boy. I like his blog because he updates it frequently but if I want analysis, I go to RLYW.
But Nomaas did get personal a few months back, putting up a picture of Pete and if I recall correctly taking a few shots at his weight. It's their right to do that, but I can see how that would piss him off.
Anyone check this out yet ?

Interesting.
Here's the temperature map from yesterday. It may be the only day of the year that I'd rather be in Wyoming:

I've obviously lived a very charmed life, I find my biggest challenge to be when I get on a NYC subway car and it isn't air conditioned.

this would be a good example of that.
