Okay, so he's not so new.  But as Pete Abe details, Brian Cashman is fired up:

I listened to most of the audio of the press conference...holy crap, can Cashman ever talk. Ask him what he had for dinner, you'll get a single run-on sentence eight minutes long, and you still won't be sure what he ate.

1 But it will sound tasty and you'll want what he's
having. : ) I've been flipping back and forth between today's games and I think I'm officially apathetic that the Yanks aren't playin'. If they were in Anaheim tonight my stomach would be churning and I'd be looking at a 1:30 am bedtime. Now I can just kick it 92 style. No biggie, right?

1 David Wright is the worst. He babbles and babbles and somehow gets progressively more southern as he goes. By then end, you have a hunkering for grits but still don't know what his point was.

3 Mattpat, you'll be interested in this excerpt - from a 4-minute response - on what they intend to do with the pitching staff. It sounds like your worst nightmare:

"We need to address the starting rotation, whether it's by free agency, by trade, um, I would not, as our fan base, I would not have high expectations on certain guys because, you know, just because you put certain players on the top of your list doesn't mean you're going to be on the top of their list, so you go through the winter process, see where it can take you, and we will need to address that rotation whether it's via trades or free agents, whether it's big names or small names, ultimately it needs to be addressed, and that's a fact."

4 It sounds like he has his eyes on someone that's going to make me rip my hair out.

6 No it simply means that you can throw all the money in the world at CC, but if he doesn't want to pitch for NY, he won't.
