Brilliant. That 1971 season and the Bonds trade are two things that leap to mind about Murcer's career, and Pos did them both justice in that piece. Just great work.

And the booing. I remember being one of them. They booed the Mick. I wasn't one of them.

What a great piece. Brings back the memories. Reminds me of the past, showing how the way we evaluate the players has changed, along with the manner that the teams deal with them.

Please, Pos, more. Lally could do it too.More about those years. It could temper and humble some of my fellow fans who suffer so badly each year the Yankees don't win a pennant.

I loved them during the dark years, too.
